In an effort to provide relief for families of victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks on America, Disc Jockeys all across the world are planning to donate portions of their proceeds from gigs worked on December 1 to the Todd M. Beamer Foundation, a non-profit organization created by Beamer's widow to benefit the children and widows of those killed on Flight 93 on that fateful day.

Beamer and other passengers on the doomed flight are an inspiration and a shining example of heroism in the face of danger. These brave men confronted their hijackers, resulting in Flight 93 crashing into a field in Pennsylvania, rather than its intended target.

Disc Jockeys are urged to donate 10% of their proceeds for gigs worked on December 1 to:

The Todd M. Beamer Foundation, Inc.
P.O. Box 32
Cranbury, NJ 08512
http://www.beamerfoundation.org/

On the envelope and check, the DJ should write "DJ December 1 Fundraiser" so that the Foundation can total our contributions and send the DJ a tax deduction form.

With much of the world's fundraising efforts focused on the World Trade Center, donating to the Beamer Foundation was the idea of John Allo, owner of John Allo Productions DJ Service in Rockland, Massachusetts, (http://www.johnalloproductions.com) as a way of illustrating to the world the empathy, care and concern of the DJ industry.

"Beamer and those on that flight are true American heroes," states Allo. "Their actions in the face of crisis are deserving of our efforts. I hope my industry can provide a tremendous amount of assistance to the families of the victims of Flight 93."

"If the DJ wants to announce to his audience that night that he or she is involved in this fundraiser, and provide a can or something so that guests can contribute, that will increase the amount we will be able to send to these needy people," Allo states.  "I seek no individual glory or publicity from this. I merely want my industry to unite and improve our image in the eyes of the general public."

This fundraising effort is being promoted to DJ's through the good offices of DJchat.com and the National Association of Mobile Entertainers (NAME) and on various DJ websites.
