If you I them in person soon after receiving the card and feel so motivated, I mention their kind words and that you’re so glad they enjoyed your gift.

    In circumstances like the above, I was so moved and appreciative that I send Jessie a brief text that included words of deep appreciation for her allowing us to share in that day and to ask for her permission to share her words with other clients.

    That's how I handle it.

    Regarding events and services delivered, a formal response to this type of thank you card really isn’t necessary and can result in a never-ending loop of thank yous (“No, thank you,” “No, no, thank you!”).

    If I see them in person soon after receiving the card and feel so motivated, I mention their kind words and that I am grateful and honored to have been a part of their celebration.
