Thanks for the reminder of that often forgotten/ignored reality.

Although it does seem that the idiot population is multiplying...exponentially...

I want to learn how, so I can troubleshoot or re-program in a pinch.
But I do not need an advanced course...
as I am looking for simple chases and effects...in different combinations...for four basic fixtures. (no moving heads/scanners)
That's pointless because that job has already been done and comes pre-installed on a ROM chip in many DJ class fixtures. Simply connect them in a master/slave mode.

You'll be taking something very simple and making it more complicated without any real benefit.

Here's a few chase ideas you can do with four basic color changing pars:

Have one light blink on then the next, the next... on light at a time.

Two fixtures on at a time... 3 at a time, all four at a time.

I also like to have a scene in between with all lights off sometimes. More contrast that way instead of constant light.

Try different color combinations. Red, Blue & Green looks good. But also make a chase of Purple, yellow and green, one of Blue, Red, & magenta etc, get creative. And of course you can change the speed of each chase, you can have lights fade on & off or turn on/off immediately and/or make a chase sound active.

Do single scenes of White, dim white and other colors bright or dim. Good for photos or slow dances.

    This is getting psychedelic
    Strobe effect completes the trip.

    That's kinda what I did.
I had scenes with static colors, ones for slow dances, and some for fast dances....
but chasing thru the different lights wouldn't look right...
as I have four different kinds of fixtures...three of which have their own pre-programmed chases.
